At Hai Pixel, the first interactive LED-floor venue in Chișinău, a two hour session costs about 1.85 times a one hour session, not double. In hard numbers: eight players at the weekend pay 1600 MDL for one hour and 2960 MDL for two, so the second hour costs 1360 MDL, close to 15 percent less than the first. It looks like a good deal, and in three situations named below it genuinely is. For most groups under eight people, and for young children, the honest answer is still one hour, and that 1360 MDL buys minutes nobody ends up playing.

What the second hour costs, in exact numbers
First rule for reading these figures: they are group totals for that exact number of players, not a per person rate. Second rule: the tariff ramps per head, so never divide a smaller group's price across a bigger group. The weekend table, the band most people book, looks like this.

The same structure repeats in the cheapest band, Monday to Thursday between 10:00 and 16:00. The numbers are smaller but the ratio between the two durations is identical, which means the "one hour or two" decision does not change with the day you come.

Checked across all 23 group sizes and all three time bands, the ratio between two hours and one hour sits between 1.84 and 1.87, with small wobbles from rounding to ten lei. The average is 1.85. Translated into the language of the person actually paying: the second hour costs about 85 percent of the first, anywhere in the catalogue.
Why the second hour looks like a bargain
The discount is real, but it is worth understanding correctly, because the mind reads it wrong. The only comparison where those 15 percent genuinely matter is between one two hour session and two separate one hour sessions. Take the group of eight at the weekend: two separate visits, on two different days, cost 1600 plus 1600, so 3200 MDL. A single two hour visit costs 2960 MDL. The gap is 240 MDL, which is 7.5 percent of the total.
Here is the first counterintuitive conclusion of this article. If you are coming with young children, two separate visits are almost certainly the better purchase, and 240 lei is a small price for what you get in exchange: two arrivals, two moments of walking into a glowing room for the first time that day, two returns at full energy. One two hour visit gives you one of those moments and a tired child at minute seventy.
The second confusion is framing. Seeing 1600 and 2960 side by side, the brain compares them to each other and decides the second is cheap. The correct comparison is 1360 MDL against zero, because the second hour is a separate purchase. The question is not whether the second hour is cheap next to the first, it is what those 1360 lei do for your group compared with keeping them or putting them into a cake.
What does it work out to per person per hour?
Cost per person per hour is the only figure that compares different durations honestly, because it cancels out both the group size and the number of hours. The table below is weekend pricing, the most expensive band, so these are the least flattering numbers we have.

You can see straight away what the second hour actually does: it drags the hourly rate down by roughly 7 percent, and nothing more. What genuinely moves the hourly rate is the number of people. A group of four pays 220 MDL per person for one weekend hour; a group of 24 pays 137.50 MDL for the same hour. That is where the money is, not in the duration. If your goal is to cut the cost per head, invite two more friends rather than buying another hour.
Are you buying minutes or attention?
This is where a table runs out of things to say. A round on the LED floor lasts 2 to 3 minutes. Divide sixty minutes by three and you get twenty rounds; divide by two and you get thirty. Even after subtracting the time spent explaining rules and switching games, one hour is still a long list of games. The same arithmetic for two hours gives forty to sixty rounds. The venue has more than 30 games, so two hours does not just let you try them all, it means you will start repeating them.
The second thing the table hides: this floor cannot be played standing still. It is a pressure sensitive surface, so every round means running, jumping, stopping hard and changing direction. It is real physical effort, closer to a workout than to a screen, except nobody feels it as one because everyone is laughing. Tiredness does not arrive at the end of the hour you booked. It arrives when it arrives.
And tiredness comes in two forms, only one of which is visible. The physical form is obvious: children sit down at the edge, ask for water, lie on the floor. The attention form is sneakier. The child is still standing on the floor, but has stopped following the rule, stopped looking for their square, stopped reacting to the colour. From the outside it looks like playing. In reality it is standing on a colourful floor. A second hour bought for a group that has already crossed into that state does not add fun, it adds minutes of standing on a colourful floor, at 1360 lei.
Who does not need the second hour
The categories below book two hours often and, from what we see in the room, would have been happier with one. We list them all, even though two hours means a bigger invoice for us.
- Groups of up to 8 people. Up to 8 players a session uses a single floor, so everybody plays in every round. There is no bench, no natural pause, no rotation. A small group burns through an hour far more intensely than a big one and hits saturation exactly when the second hour would start.
- Young children. The games are fast and competitive. A five or six year old catches the first rounds with total enthusiasm and then slides into watching-the-others mode. With groups of very young children, the second hour usually ends up being spent at the edge of the floor.
- A first visit. If nobody in the group has played before, you have no way of knowing how your people will react. One hour costs less than getting that answer wrong. If it turns out to be too short, next time you book two hours and you know exactly why.
- Two adults. As a pair, the per person price is the worst in the whole catalogue: 220 MDL each for one weekend hour. Two hours as a pair is 810 MDL, and the floor gets repetitive faster with two people than with eight, because many of the games are built around team competition.
- Groups with something else planned. If dinner, a film or a cake at home follows the session, two hours on the floor pushes the whole schedule back by an hour and turns the rest of the evening into a rush.
The verdict, plainly: if you are under eight people, if it is a first visit, or if the group includes young children, book one hour. If the group wants more at the end, you have a good reason to come back, and we would rather have that than a second hour paid for and unused.
Three situations that genuinely earn the second hour
There are cases where the second hour is not an upsell but the thing that makes the visit work. There are three of them, and they share one feature: in all three, part of the time is naturally spent off the floor.
1. The large group, where people rotate
From 9 players a session uses 2 floors, and from 17 it uses 3, at 8 people per floor. In a group of 18 or 22, not everybody is in the game the whole time: some are filming, some are watching the score on the LED wall, some are drinking water and coming back. The rotation happens by itself, without anyone organising it. The result is that each person's effective playing time across two hours resembles that of one person in a group of six across a single hour. Here the second hour does not add fatigue, it adds turns for everyone.
2. The birthday, where the celebration area carries the middle
Birthday packages are built as 2 plus 2: two hours of LED-floor games with the table area, then roughly two more hours with the private celebration area only, so about four hours on site in total. Those two floor hours work precisely because they are not two continuous hours of running: the cake, the presents, the photos and the food break sit in the middle. 3. The mixed age group that needs slower rounds
When the same session holds eight year olds, teenagers and parents, the fast reflex games clearly favour one category. Mixed groups work if you alternate: a fast round, then a team round where the small child counts just as much, then one explained slowly. That alternation eats time, and a single hour fits very few complete cycles. Here the second hour buys exactly what is needed: patience.
A full worked example: eight children, Saturday
A real scenario with every number in the open. Eight children, Saturday, nobody has anti-slip socks, so they are bought on site at 30 MDL a pair.
- One hour: 1600 MDL for the session plus 240 MDL for socks (8 x 30), total 1840 MDL, which is 230 MDL per child.
- Two hours: 2960 MDL for the session plus the same 240 MDL of socks, total 3200 MDL, which is 400 MDL per child.
- The difference: 1360 MDL, or 170 MDL extra per child, for one more hour on the same floor.
Now the part a salesperson would not show you. The Party package for up to 8 guests costs 3000 MDL, one flat price on any day of the week, and it includes two hours of LED-floor games plus roughly two more hours in the private celebration area. A plain two hour weekend session costs 2960 MDL. That is 40 lei between them, and the package gives you the private area and about four hours on site instead of two.
So if you are about to buy two hours for eight children at a weekend, in most cases you do not want a two hour session at all. You want either one hour at 1600 MDL or the package at 3000 MDL. The space between them, which is exactly the two hour session, is the only option with no good argument in front of it. The same logic repeats further up the scale: 16 players for two weekend hours is 4440 MDL, while the Grand Party package for up to 16 guests is 5000 MDL, again with the private area included and again at one flat price whatever the day.

The risk is real and worth stating: weekend slots tend to run back to back, so extending on the day is less likely than on a Monday lunchtime. If your event genuinely depends on the second hour, for example because guests are travelling in, book it from the start. For birthday packages an extra hour exists as a separate add-on, alongside socks, snacks, cake and pizza.
