The classic rainy-day option works because it alternates: you throw, then you sit down and talk. It is the only entry here where people who do not want to break a sweat still enjoy themselves, so it suits mixed-age groups. Two adjacent lanes cover 4 to about 12 people. Rates are quoted per lane per hour and vary a lot between venues, so call first. The weak point: on a rainy weekend the lanes fill first.
3. An escape room
Escape rooms in the city are built for small groups, roughly 2 to 6 people, and run about an hour. 18. An underground wine cellar
Cricova and Milestii Mici are entirely underground, so the weather above becomes irrelevant the moment you go in. It is the only idea here that needs organised transport and half a day, but also the only one that reliably impresses a visitor from out of town. Visits are arranged in advance and run with a guide. Large budget
The full day, or a proper party.
